About my work

MTC portrait.jpg

I have been a qualified naturopath for over thirty years, I have also worked with Anthroposophic medicine principals and therapeutic practices for all of that time. My name is Nicole, but my family, friends and clients also call me Nikki.

I have a life long, searching interest in the role of health and illness in relation to the individual destiny path. My work is deeply informed by the work of Rudolf Steiner. I love the biographical, three and fourfold understanding behind anthroposophic healing approaches and therapies. I am always aiming to understand the interplay of the cosmic and earthly. My two health science degrees provide me with a solid base for informed assessment and prescribing. I am a life long learner who actively liaises with colleagues from multiple modalities on a weekly basis. I have deep concern for people's well-being and a genuine admiration for the uniqueness of each person. I enjoy working with all ages and illnesses.

I am endorsed as an Anthroposophic Naturopath by the Medical Section at the Goetheanum/ISAN. I have contributed towards the development of Anthroposophic Naturopathic training in Australia for many years and am a founding member of the Australian Anthroposophic Naturopaths Guild.

In my spare time I still (30 years later) love to read books by Rudolf Steiner, I am in awe of and always trying to learn more Eurythmy, I am trying to build a clinic and little home in the forrest, I love to garden, draw, paint and spend time in nature.

Therapeutic Approach

Naturopathy is rooted in the belief that healing comes from treating the whole person rather than only addressing isolated symptoms. An accredited naturopath has completed a degree with government approved health science subjects for advanced prescribing of ingestible substances. Good case taking is our most important tool for understanding your health picture and needs. Homeopathic remedies and herbal medicine have always been a part of our practice. Naturopaths have long been pioneers in recognising the vital role of gut health and working with people to identify diets and well selected probiotics to support overall balance between health giving and non/commensal bacteria. We aim to support the natural function of the body’s organ functions and restore harmony and resilience to the whole body. We can prescribe pathology tests such as faecal microbial tests, hair tissue analysis or blood tests. Meditation and mindfulness have always been integral to our practice, we have always aimed to nurture not only physical health but also

emotional and spiritual well-being.

An Anthroposophic approach to health and healing brings a rich understanding of the role of illness in the individual journey path.  Anthroposophic medicine prescribers look at the threefold and fourfold picture of the human being and observe where there is excess or under-activity. Anthroposophic remedies can attempt to stimulate healing by mirroring certain aspects of the illness itself, a principle that echoes the homeopathic idea of “like cures like,”, or by showing what healthy function looks like and encouraging the body to learn and adopt these patterns for itself. Anthropsophic medicines can aim to shift the dominance from one functional or organ system to a more whole body harmony. Like naturopathy, anthroposophic remedies aim to strengthen the body’s own health-generating responses, leading to enhanced  resilience and vitality.

In my practice, I am deeply committed to working collaboratively with each individual, recognising the unique story and destiny that illness can reveal. I draw on both natural and scientific knowledge, with the aim to develop an earthly and spiritual understanding with you, of your own healing journey and needs.

Services

Each session will be unique to the individual. I will seek to understand and explore your symptom picture and work towards developing a clinical understanding of your illness in my role as a naturopath. I will ask amnestic questions and pay attention to the three and fourfold pictures of the human being as part of an Anthroposophic Medicine approach. Therapeutic substances will frequently include Anthroposophic remedies. There will often be Classical Homeopathic, Western Herbal Medicine,  dietary support, meditation and lifestyle recommendations.

Client Testimonial

"My first brush with Nikki as a homoeopath was when she was making a home visit to my young
daughter who was lying on the couch fading away in front of me. Nikki had offered the visit after I
had phoned. Twenty-four hours after the first dose of the remedy from Nikki, I realised something
remarkable – my daughter’s morning cough had stopped! It wasn’t an awful cough, but it was
chronic. The visit wasn’t even about the cough, which never reappeared!

Since that time Nikki has worked with my three children and me over a period of at least twenty
years, through thick and thin, including some very serious crises. I don’t want to mar this piece of
writing with these details, but Nikki has always been there for us. And it has been a constant
struggle. Every which way.

She is a gifted healer; beyond extraordinary, and she draws on a massive palette of modalities in a
truly artistic way. She is unique. Her knowledge of homoeopathics, is in itself, phenomenal. Coupled
with her deep understanding of what it is to be human, she can piece together a complex tangled
jigsaw in miraculous ways. And I don’t dare imagine my life without her help.

The thing is though; she has taught me how to take good care of myself! How to recognise what I
need, and how to find myself again. She has empowered me to navigate tremendous grief and trials,
with a weakened digestive system and not only survive, but actually thrive, and develop spiritually.

She may appear scattered sometimes; she may take her time; she may be always busy; but Nikki
cares. She thinks very clearly and logically, and works with her intuition in conscious ways. She is
always learning and very considerate. And she is juggling huge responsibilities, with humour and joy
and empathy. I can always be honest with her, without judgement. She gets me. And I am truly
grateful she is on this earth, helping us out at this time."
